Classes are kept small in size (four to five students pr class in Mr. Colls studio), enabling a hands on approach. Classes are ongoing, providing year round concentrated study. Join at any time. I cater to the serious artists who want to someday have a professional career. Students can join at any level of expertise. We therefore discuss marketing and learn how to make frames.We meet weekly and jointly start a new painting every week from the same reference. Students are expected to complete the painting that week and return to class the following week for critique. I paints along with the students describing what to do next providing a continues demonstration in every class. Advanced students can paint from their own references if they choose to do so. Painting from photographic references is not ideal and painting from life is expected. Plein air expeditions are provided in the warmer months and portrait painting from live models is offered on Friday mornings.
Schedule and cost:
Tuesday afternoon class is from 1:30 to 4:30 at $95 a month.Wednesday morning class is form 9:00 to noon at $95 a month
Wednesday afternoon class is from 1:30 to 4:30 at $95 a month
Monthly fees is required for above classes even if the student does not attend all the classes. Make up classes encouraged and provided.
There is a free Thursday evening "open studio" from 6:45 to 9:30 for students to work on their weekly assignments.
Friday morning portrait with live model is from 9:00 to noon. Cost is $15 pr session which includes instruction.
